How did genital herpes start in the first place??

Ok, so I’ve read that Aids started from monkeys in the mid 1900’s… that got my wife wondering about genital herpes because we just saw a commercial about it. She asked me to google it, but I can’t find anything about it all started in the first place. Can anyone tell me? I would greatly appreciate a link. Thanks.

Well, I read once in various websites that it is very old…in the Bible you can find histories about it… and also science already (I’ve read) found virus of herpes in dinnosauros…
I guess it is pretty old.
